Charlie Boling

My name is Charlie Boling and I grew up in Montgomery AL.
I started playing guitar when I was 11 years old following in the footsteps of my father, Daniel Jack Boling. He played in one of Hank Williams original bands and would have guitar pulls at our house all the time during the 30' & 40's.
My father wrote the song "Mind You Own Business" for Hank and was suppose to drive him to Canton Ohio the night that he died, but could not get off work, so instead, Charles Carr drove Hank on his final trip down that Lonesome Highway.
My Fathers' picture hangs in the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery and I have a CD of my father talking about his days with Hank, sharing funny and great stories about him.
I carry on my father’s legacy, playing rhythm guitar in the Bands "LA THUNDER", "SMOKING GUNS" & "THE ROLLING THUNDER BAND" in Mobile AL where I have lived for years.
I got out of the music scene for a while, but with encouragement of local musicians here in Mobile, like brothers George & Donnie Mills, I am getting back into the passion that I feel I was born to pursue. I currently have a CD out (WHEN COUNTRY WAS COUNTRY) and am a regular performer at the Hank Williams Birthday Celebration in Montgomery as well as the Alabama Pecan Festival held in Tillman’s Corner each November.
For info booking me to perform, email me and get a taste of "WHEN COUNTRY WAS COUNTRY"! I can also be reached at my website http://www.myspace.com/charlieboling .
